New St. James

Amid an atmosphere brimming with excitement and gratitude, the new St. James the Apostle Catholic Elementary School was inaugurated with prayers, blessings, and warm wishes. Elena Minicucci, principal of St. James, addressing the gathered community, acknowledged the collective effort that brought the school to fruition, emphasizing the importance of gratitude for the blessings received and the hard work put in. What was at one time less than 200 students, the student body has expanded to a population of 467.

Fr. Andrew Quarshie's blessings echoed the theme of learning and growth inherent in the school's mission. Drawing from scripture, he emphasized the role of education in shaping individuals to positively impact others' lives, likening students to "fishers of people" who spread goodness and virtue. Prayers and readings further emphasized thanksgiving, wisdom, and compassion as foundational values guiding the school's journey.

David Hansen, commended the dedication of the school's leadership, staff, and parents in advocating for and realizing the dream of a new school building. He encouraged students to embrace the opportunity to script a new chapter in St. James's legacy, filled with promise and possibilities.

Amid the excitement of exploring the new school, Minicucci reminded students to listen attentively and approach the unfamiliar with curiosity and openness. As students embarked on tours led by their teachers, the spirit of unity and anticipation permeated the air, marking the beginning of a new era for St. James Catholic Elementary School.
