On Wednesday, May 29th, St. David Catholic Elementary School transformed its grounds into a vibrant arena under sunny skies for a full-day "Summer Olympics" event. Organized by the school's Health Action Team (HAT) and the administrative duo of Ms. Lamparksi and Mr. Tersigni, the day focused on promoting mental well-being and physical activity, while also building anticipation for the upcoming Paris Summer Olympics.

The festivities kicked off with an Opening Ceremony in the Wellness Hub, where each class, representing different countries, proudly paraded in with their flags. The Health Action Team delivered an engaging presentation to set the tone for the day's activities.

Students from FDK to Grade 8 participated in a diverse array of 13 stations, including cricket, golf, javelin and shot put, basketball, volleyball, and archery. These activities were supervised by the Health Action Team and Grade 7 students, fostering a sense of teamwork and leadership among the participants.

Community partners played a crucial role in the success of the event. Bora Jujitsu and CYO hosted a cricket clinic, while Rising Stars contributed their expertise to the soccer, obstacle course, and parachute stations. Their support added a professional touch to the proceedings and enriched the students' experience.

The school community was treated to a delicious lunch featuring grilled hotdogs, fresh popcorn, and yogurt tubes, expertly prepared by Mr. Tersigni and his dedicated BBQ crew. This hearty meal provided the energy needed to keep spirits high throughout the day.

The event was made possible through the generous funding of ParticipACTiON, whose support underscored the importance of physical activity and community engagement. Thanks to the passionate efforts of the Health Action Team and all involved, the "Summer Olympics" at St. David Catholic Elementary School was a resounding success, leaving everyone eagerly looking forward to the next opportunity for fun and fitness.
